Greetings,
The following is a report on a scammer who goes by the name of Yulia Korobkova. Although I am not listed on any dating or personal web sites, “Yulia” contacted me in April 2005. I had no experience in dealing with Russian scammers, and was captivated by her beautiful pictures and almost daily letters.
I became alarmed when Yulia “fell in love” with me and wanted to marry me after only a few emails. I began to do research into Russian scams, and I quickly realized that Yulia was indeed only after money from me.
Although I knew that she was a scammer, I continued to correspond with her for several more months. During this time, I actively tried to find other men who were corresponding with her to try to warn them. I was able to find quite a few men from around the world. I also filed reports with the FBI and FSB. Yulia is an extremely patient scammer – we traded almost 300 emails and Yulia sent me 80 pictures and some videos.
Some of the warning signs that Yulia was a scammer include:
· She uses “The Bat!” software from a supposed public internet café.
· She never gave me her home address or a phone number (she would always call me).
· She did not answer many of my questions.
· She was not interested in me coming to Russia to visit her, instead, she said she would get a Tourist Visa to come to the US to visit me. (I knew that it was practically impossible for a poor, young, single, Russian girl to obtain a Tourist Visa to the US).
· Ten times she sent the exact same message to me several days or weeks after she initially sent it.
Yulia used the “Russian Tourist Visa” scam with me and several others that I know of. Some sample letters and example of her “money letter” are enclosed below.

Her initial letter to me:
Hello my friend.
Me call Yulia, my surname Korobkova. To me of 26 years. I was born May, 26, 1978 in city of Kazan. You have seemed it is enough the interesting person. And at me the desire with you has appeared to get acquainted. Probably you would like to ask me. What I search for relations? I SEARCH TO MYSELF OF THE CLOSE PERSON, for serious relations. With which in fast the future, would like to connect the life.
Probably you will be set by a question why I search for the destiny and want to connect the life with the person from far borders. I tried to find the guy from Russia, and was convinced that they do not appreciate feeling, of relations, between the man and the woman. On mine the sight in relations should to be present not only what or needs , but love and romanticism.
Not much I shall tell about myself. I am very romantic person. I work in cosmetic interior. I like to care of beauty of people. After that I should buy tickets aboard the plane. AT what I agree to my visa should to buy tickets in both parties, it Obligatory rule. But if I remain with you I can receive at the airport money for the return ticket. To find out exact Cost of tickets, I should know your address and the name of the international airport where I can arrive.
Now the only thing that prevents us to be together these are money. I am not sure that you have such money, As it is very big sum. Whether my dear we can overcome these monetary obstacles.
