Hi,

I'm a 35 year old Canadian and I would like tell you about my experience with a known scammer, Tatiana Akinshina.

Currently myself and another male from Argentina have filed complaints with the SBU and the FBI. I would like to see the agency International Communications (former Questway) and in particular, Ms. Akinshina stopped of their practices.

I would like any others that have been scammed by this agency and their girls to step forward with their stories to this site. http://www.ukrabel.com/scamalert.htm

If we get a couple of more complaints then maybe we have a much stronger legal case against them.

They are very good at what they do and the girls will correspond with you every day if you pay for this service. I talked to Tatiana for 4 months straight almost everyday except for Sundays.

I at first expected something was up with International because I talked to another girl for a couple of months and she acted strange and would tell me that International was bad and that I should send any money to her. After receiving a letter that was supposed to be addressed to another victim, I soon stopped talking to her.

Then I decided to email as many girls as I suspected to be with International to get the initial form letters they send to everyone that writes. I would explain that I was almost scammed by another girl, etc.

I got a form letter from Tatiana initially but on the second letter I believe it was her that replied, and said she was not like the other girl, and if I wanted to write her she would write back. I was a little wary of her and the agency and I didn't know who was doing the scamming.

I did some surfing and came apon another guy who lived in the city and was scammed once by an agency in the area so I wrote him and asked him for his help. He said he would help me out and check the girl out. He showed me to a few scam sites and sure enough she was on it with lots of stuff written against Questway which was her former agency. I read the letters and thought that there was nothing substantial said against Tatiana, I thought maybe she is ok after all.

She never did ask the man for money other then for correspondence and although I don't agree with International's way of doing business, they did provide a service. So she agreed to meet with my new contact from Lugansk and was excited to prove that she was a nice girl.

Initial thoughts from him was that she had the looks of an angel but her pictures on the internet showed a playboy type of image. We wrote ever day and I was beginning to really like this girl.

I called her from time to time and she always showed up at the agency to receive my phone call (no phone at home) and they always helped with translation if needed at no additional cost.

My contact had a webcam and I asked her if she wanted to meet me via the webcam and she agreed.

Everything seemed to be great and I started making plans to meet her and her family the end of Dec. and First of Jan. I thought this way I would not interfer with her schooling and be able to celebrate New Years, her birthday and Christmas all at the same time.

Then one weekend out of the blue after talking to me prior that day she said had an aweful toothache and had to go to the dentist and needed $70US. Right away things started going off in my head and I didn't mention anything till a few days later when everything blew up and I accused her of being a scammer. She denied everything and explained why she needed that much money. The whole time me and my contact didn't know what to think of things. I decided to send her the money and continue to talk to her. Later I sent her on English courses as I wanted her english to be a little better before I arrived so that I wouldn't feel as uncomfortable around her family.

We did a few webcams and a few phone calls and everything seemed to be going good.

Some days she would answer me with short responses and I always questioned her as to whether or not she was talking to other guys and I never got a straight answer.

I knew deep down that she was likely taking money from other individuals but she wasn't asking me for money, and I was going to meet her and find out for myself whether she truly did care for me.

The 4 months we corresponded I think I drove my contact in Lugansk crazy trying to figure out this girl. She would try and inflat the prices of things like train tickets but then she would realize that she couldn't pull things like that on me without a good explanation, as I knew, or could find out exactly what things cost.

She did manage to get a couple of things out of me while I was over to see her, like earrings and a cordless phone installed in their apartment.

I think her family are all in on things as she told me how much her father and mother made and how they were both not working currently. With her going to school and everything things just didn't add up. Her trips to the agency via bus every day would cost something. Obviously money was coming from other sources.

Her family was very friendly to me and treated me well while I was over there. Asked me about my country and seemed like they were happy for Tatiana and myself meeting. Tatiana said to me one day that her mother asked her if she was going to marry me. It might have all been a ploy to get me to give her a ring and to work on getting a visa, etc.

After I got back I phoned her a couple of times then gave her a letter telling her I didn't see myself being with her as I found her too needy a person. I don't need another daughter to look after.

A few days later I found out she was corresponding with a guy from Argentina and doing the same thing. He meet with her two weeks before me in Kiev and they talked of her going to his country in April/May when she was talking to me about doing the same thing.

She told me the week she was in Kiev that she had been sick and couldn't go into the agency. Everything was a lie and I'm glad I didn't get any deeper into things with her.

I had good intentions of asking her to marry me when I went over and it would have been interesting how that would have played out. I'm sure the visa/passport scam is what she was pulling and I would have been the loser in the end. I already figured out I spent more then $6300Can. With the trip and corresponding with her, etc.

I have current pictures, email address, and letters from Tatiana and you are more then welcome to them. I know for sure that the SBU have questioned her but I'm not sure they did anything with her except maybe tell her to not do it again. If I can get two more individuals to step forward then for sure we will have enough of a case against International and Tatiana and maybe pave the way to clean up the city, known as the City of Scammers, Lugansk.
